Egypt at the Olympics: The Formal Uniforms are Made in Biella (Italy)

Egypt at the Olympics: The Formal Uniforms are Made in Biella (Italy) EN Egypt at the Olympics: The Formal Uniforms are Made in Biella (Italy) IT Egitto alle Olimpiadi. Le divise formali sono made in Biella Ettore Veronese has designed the athletes' uniforms for Concrete Fashion Group, a leading company with which he has been collaborating for over 15 years. Concrete Fashion Group , Member of the Italian Chamber of Commerce-Egypt, leading Egyptian clothing manufacturer with a turnover of over $150 million and around 10,000 employees. The Arab giant produces 4 million pairs of pants and 1.5 million jackets annually. Ettore Veronese, who grew up professionally in the wool district under the tutelage of Nino Cerruti, is the face of Concrete Fashion Group, has invested in Italian taste and the Biella-based creative director with whom it has maintained a partnership for over 15 years. Recently, Veronese had the satisfaction of presenting the design project for the Egyptian national team uniforms, which will be worn at the upcoming Paris Games, to the Minister of Sports and Youth, Ashraf Sobhy, in person. "We have tailored outfits for over 400 people, including athletes, Paralympic athletes, and the staff accompanying them," he explains. "Everything was approved with satisfaction by the Olympic Committee leaders and by Sobhy himself. The collection was then the subject of an official press conference in recent days. It was a complex job due to the different physiques of each athlete, from fencing to football and weightlifting." The uniforms are characterized by white and international elegance. The official outfit includes a single-breasted jacket with one button and three patch pockets, featuring an embroidery on the upper pocket and a gros-grain ribbon on the sleeve and on the pants' pendant, reflecting the colors of the Egyptian flag: white, red, and black. For officials, the jacket is black, while everyone will wear a t-shirt with a vertical print of the flag and an embroidered Olympic symbol. The second outfit, made from Egyptian organic cotton interlock jersey, includes a jacket and comfortable pants for relaxation and post-competition moments. Veronese continues, "For the formal suit, we chose a stretch seersucker cotton from Lanificio Subalpino. I regularly collaborate with Biella-based companies whose fabrics are an integral part of my collections for CFG. With my team, consisting of Marcella Furlan, Valeria Barbieri, and Giorgia Moschini, we manage the style office of the Egyptian company where all collections are designed with high-end classic tailoring taste." Observation, analysis, and careful research are the key elements that allow translating sensations into trends and subsequently developing them into projects. This is Veronese’s mantra, who, after a master’s in corporate marketing, started his career at Fila Sport and then moved to the product office at Cerruti 1881 Sport. He then pursued an independent designer career by opening his first prêt-à-porter menswear and womenswear design studio in 1995. Today, he works with national and international brands, is a consultant for the Chinese market, and oversees high-end total look collections. "This year, with CFG, we will launch a capsule called He Evolution, with a very fashion-forward cut, created in collaboration with my brother Marco, a digital creator, who contributed to giving the collection a unique storytelling. In the autumn-winter 25/26 season, in addition to men’s, teenager’s, and children’s lines, a women’s collection will also debut, always managed by my studio." The Egyptian group, in addition to its own retail network of around fifty stores in the country, collaborates with world-famous brands such as Brooks Brothers, Massimo Dutti, Armani, Ermenegildo Zegna, and Debenhams. It also owns or holds exclusive rights to prestigious brands like Gibson London, Alexander, and Racing Green. Recently in Egypt, the Veronese brothers also worked for the exclusive Sachi beach resort in Almaza Bay, where they outfitted loungers, cushions, and managed the decor. "They wanted a particular atmosphere, a fundamental philosophy that would tie together the whole environment and the beach, which is really unique. For this reason, Marco and I created a concept that could bring energy as well as suggest relaxation."

Circular Economy Concept in Regenerative Bioeconomy, Paper District & Textile District: let's talk about it at Ecomondo !2

Circular Economy Concept in Regenerative Bioeconomy, Paper District & Textile District let's talk about it at Ecomondo ! CIRCULAR BIOECONOMYSOLUTIONS ARE IN NATURE From the production of biological and marine resources to their transformation into food, feed, chemicals and fuels: in Europe, the bioeconomy generates revenue of EUR 2.5 trillion and provides 18.5 million jobs. Bioeconomy is set to be one of the most important topics in this Ecomondo edition. We’ll talk about it with several partner as, for example ENEA, Cluster Spring, representatives of European agencies, ENI, Novamont, EU Bioeconomy Youth Ambassadors and Re Soil Foundation coordinated by the Technical Scientific Committee. The objectives? Fostering public-private alliances and the adoption of regulatory, financial and internationalisation priorities to strengthen the European and Mediterranean regenerative bioeconomy. DISCOVER BIOECONOMY EVENTS ECOMONDO LAUNCHES THE PAPER DISTRICTFOR PAPER AND CARDBOARD INDUSTRY The results of the paper and cardboard industry in Italy speak for themselves: with a packaging recycling rate of 85%, above the EU’s 2030 target, and a circularity rate of 62%, it is one of the most virtuous sectors at national level and an important lever in the ecological transition. In addition, the paper industry has been identified as a flagship sector in Next Generation EU projects, with the goal of improving collection, recovery and recycling activities and simultaneously acting on plant efficiency, redevelopment and reconditioning to strengthen of implants. In this scenario Ecomondo is launching the Paper District in collaboration with Comieco, Unirima and Federazione Carta e Grafica. Set up in Hall B2, the Paper District brings together and engages the community by multiplying networking and business opportunities. DISCOVER THE PROJECT Many are the realities of the supply chain inside the Pavilion: from paper mills to municipalities, from certifying bodies to trading companies, from PAs to digital service companies to processors and the world of waste management. BROWSE THE EXHIBITORS CATALOGUE TEXTILE DISTRICTTHE CIRCULARITY OF THE TEXTILE INDUSTRY MOVES THROUGH ECOMONDO Producing a T-shirt requires 2,700 litres of water, equal to one person's water needs for two years. To produce a pair of jeans requires 7,500 litres. Besides being one of the pillars of the European economy, the textile industry is among the sectors with the highest environmental impact. It is responsible for 10% of global carbon emissions, consumes around 93 billion m3 of water in production alone and dumps around 500,000 tonnes of microfibres into the seas. Against this backdrop, the key words for the industry's green conversion are garment recyclability, ecodesign, transparency and supply chain control. These inputs are welcomed by Ecomondo, which reaffirms and expands the space dedicated to the Textile District for 2023.
